Job summary

Mercy Health is hiring a CT Technologist for Fairfield Hospital to perform diagnostic CT scans and provide direct patient care with compassionate service. The role requires imaging quality, proper patient positioning, and contrast administration. A preferred ARRT credential and 1 year CT/Rad tech experience are expected.

Eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment. On-site position with Mercy Health benefits, on-call rotation, and use of EPIC EHR and PACS systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher preferred from ARRT accredited program.
• Active ARRT registration for Diagnostic Radiology is required or obtained within timeframe.
• Experience: 1 year in CT or Rad Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures image quality and verifies patient data.
• Performs CT procedures and follows protocol.
• Conducts patient positioning and immobilization for CT.
• Administers contrast agents per policy and physician orders.
• Assists radiologist with procedures using sterile technique.
• Operates CT IT systems (Radiant, PACS) and maintains equipment.
• Participates in on-call rotation as required.

CT Technologist - Fairfield Hospital

Job Summary

The CT Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment in a way that provides direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner. The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.

Essential Functions

• Assures the quality of all images and confirms that all pertinent patient/procedural data is correct.
• Performs computed tomography procedures.
• Performs timeout as required per policy.
• Properly positions patients on CT scanning cradles and properly immobilizes patients with appropriate devices to obtain desired position.
• Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per physician request and patient history.
• Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of use and care of existing IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
• Assists the radiologist with biopsies, drainage procedures, etc. utilizing sterile techniques, exhibiting safe and effective use of all contrast and radiation materials.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
• Participates in on call rotation as required.

Education

• Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)

Required Licensing & Certifications

• BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
• Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within two years)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
