Job summary

MUSC is seeking a CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT exams using advanced CT equipment, including photon counting CT technologies, and to support multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will work weekend days (Fri–Sun, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with a 36-hour schedule, contributing to accurate imaging and patient safety while collaborating with radiologists and clinicians to guide patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • 0–2 years modality-specific work experience, at least 1 year of X-Ray experience.
  • ARRT Registration (R) required; CT Registration within 1 year; SC licensure required; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CT imaging resources to perform high-quality examinations.
  • Provide imaging services for patients across all ages.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient imaging for physician interpretation.

CT Technologists at MUSC play a critical role in capturing detailed cross-sectional images using cutting‑edge CT technology, including networked CT units, dedicated protocol support, and the only photon counting CT in South Carolina. As a CT technologist at MUSC, you will be aiding in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions, collaborating closely with other care teams to ensure high‑quality patient care in a dynamic medical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize all CT imaging resources to perform high‑quality CT examinations
  • Provide CT imaging services for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics
  • Ensure accurate and efficient imaging for physician interpretation
  • Maintain image quality standards and follow established CT protocols
  • Deliver compassionate patient care while ensuring patient safety during examinations
  • Operate CT equipment safely and effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment
Required License Certification and Registration
Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience, at least 1 year of X‑Ray experience.

Required Registration/Certification
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required.
  • ARRT CT Registration must be obtained within 1 year in this position.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHArecognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker.

25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.
