Job summary

The CT Technologist delivers safe, high-quality CT imaging and supports patients at Columbia County Medical Center Hospital within Wellstar Health System.

Required are ARRT-CT and ARRT-R certifications, BLS, and at least 1 year in Radiology; you will perform CT procedures, ensure patient comfort, document results, and maintain equipment while supporting infection control and department operations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain diagnostic quality at ALARA doses.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and use two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout visits.
• Administer contrast as per protocol and use venipuncture when needed.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and release appropriately.
• Document accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers when needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, restock equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows and support department operations and compliance.
