Summary
  • Performs a variety of CT imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishments of their imaging needs.
  • Varying hours/shifts available including day, night, and weekend.
Responsibilities
  • Equipment: Responsible for the utilization of CT equipment to ensure care and safety of patients, minimizing hazards such as electric shock, burns, and radiation. Completes quality control on equipment, demonstrates proper use, and troubleshooting skills.
Education

Possess knowledge and competency in procedures performed, able to respond to patient and family questions/concerns, and attend mandatory training. Must have current CPR certification, maintain ARRT/CT certification, and obtain CT certification within 1 year of hire. Participates in training of new staff and students.

Clinical
  • Introduce self to patient, verify identity, and understanding of the procedure. Practice aseptic techniques, review clinical history, and obtain lab results. Perform vein puncture, document procedures, and adapt imaging to improve quality. Monitor image data, maintain ALARA standards, and recognize emergency signs.
Clerical
  • Utilize IDX, document patient info, provide documentation to physicians, and maintain confidentiality. Track and verify patient information.
Management
  • Perform duties ethically, promote teamwork, communicate effectively, monitor workflow, and ensure CT rooms are stocked, clean, and ready. Attend meetings and stay informed about departmental changes.
Performance Improvement & Safety
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and adhere to safety regulations and protocols.
Credentials
  • CT certification within 1 year of hire, ARRT certification, and BLS certification are required.
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • H.S. Diploma/GED, graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, or equivalent experience.
