Position Summary

Under the direction of the Radiologist, performs Radiology Services procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures with independent judgment, applying prescribed ionizing radiation. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Prioritizes patient care and ensures high-quality service. Performs examinations on patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric.

Essential Functions

• Selects and operates equipment, adjusting technical factors per patient needs; loads and develops films as required.
• Transfers and positions patients for examinations to obtain optimal radiographic results, providing immobilization and protection according to safety standards.
• Assists physicians with examinations, including mixing, pouring, and administering contrast media, and supporting sterile procedures.
• Performs clerical tasks such as inputting/editing exams and completing requisitions.
• Receives verbal orders for examinations from responsible practitioners, complying with licensing requirements.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service principles.
• Seeks ways to control costs without compromising safety or quality of care.
• Uses the occurrence reporting system to report safety issues and medical errors following established guidelines.
• Attends mandatory training and in-service presentations.
• Utilizes Performance Improvement Plans to enhance patient safety.
• Maintains regular, punctual, and dependable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Associate Degree or equivalent in Radiological Technology required.

Licensure/Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required; advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred; BLS/BCLS certification required.

Experience: Knowledge of anatomy, positioning, radiographic techniques, radiation protection, physics, and medical terminology required.
