Description

SUMMARY

The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) works under general supervision to perform diagnostic procedures for patients using a CT Machine. Responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections, use of aseptic injection techniques
  2. Produces high quality diagnostic images
  3. Orders supplies and cleans the workspace
  4. Effectively communicates with customers, doctors, and/or other staff members
  5. Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.)
  6. Trains new CT Techs and/or support staff
  7. Start I.V.’s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  2. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  3. Graduation from a Certified Radiologic Technology program
  4. Current ARRT(CT)
  5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  3. Maintains confidentiality
  4. Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting
