Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital seeks a part-time CT Technologist to develop knowledge to perform quality CT exams safely and efficiently, while delivering excellent patient care in a pediatric setting.

Required education includes an associate degree or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree recommended for career growth. ARRT CT certification and state licensure are required, with opportunities to grow in a Magnet-designated pediatric hospital.

Qualifications

  • Recommended Work Experience: Pediatric

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Developing knowledge to perform correct scan protocols to decrease radiation exposure.
  • Adheres to radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA.
  • Properly administer IV and oral contrast.
  • Explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Maintain the work area.
  • Stay current with evolving CT technologies.
  • Maintain equipment and request service as needed.
  • Comply with all regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsabilites
  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  • Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
  • Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
  • Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
