Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time CT Technologist to develop knowledge and perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner while delivering excellent patient care.

Responsibilities include verifying exams, minimizing radiation exposure, administering contrast, maintaining equipment, and staying current with safety standards in a pediatric setting. ARRT CT certification is required, ARRT or CNMT options encouraged, with state licensure desired.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from two-year program/technical school or nursing diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ARRT CT certification or AR license within one year is expected.

Responsibilities

• Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
• Develops knowledge of CT scan protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
• Maintains awareness of radiation safety guidelines for patients.
• Properly administers IV and oral contrast when required.
• Explains exams to patients and families and answers questions.

Description

• Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
• Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
• Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
• Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
• Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
• Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
• Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
• Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
• Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
