Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time Radiology MRI Technician to support quality diagnostic imaging. You will learn to produce MR exams safely and efficiently under Radiology team guidance while prioritizing patient care and safety.

Required education includes an Associate degree or equivalent; ARRT MRI Specialist certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire. This role offers training, a collaborative environment, and opportunities in pediatric imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge to perform diagnostic MRI scans as directed by Radiologists.
  • Develop protocols to optimize image quality and minimize scan length and repeats.
  • Screen patients, families, and staff for MRI safety and contraindications.
  • Adhere to all safety recommendations for MRI environments.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in proper condition.
  • Troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 1. Developing skills to perform diagnostic MRI scans as directed by Radiologists.
  • 2. Developing knowledge to use correct scan protocols in an effort to optimize image quality while decreasing scan length and repeat procedures.
  • 3. Developing knowledge to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
  • 4. Developing knowledge about and adheres to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
  • 5. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • 6. Developing knowledge in how to troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • 7. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
