The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position requires ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform high-quality scans.

Job Details

• Department Location: Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: PRN or as needed
• Shift: Hours and shifts will vary depending on need

Job Essentials

• Ensures proper patient identification, verifies orders, and prepares the patient for the exam.
• Performs exams according to department protocol.
• Understands cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrates anatomical positioning competency.
• Familiar with the ALARA program and follows proper radiation safety protocols.
• Critiques own films to ensure quality.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or exam quality.
• Has knowledge of protocol relating to contrast administration.
• Administers oral barium or intravenous contrast as ordered by the physician and under supervision.
• Practices infection control and sterile techniques appropriately.
• Provides patient education and ensures patient comfort.
• Operates CT equipment and related systems to produce quality images.
• Proficient with contrast injectors and laser printers.
• Manipulates and transfers images using electronic imaging systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Radiography Certification/Registration (ARRT)
• Relevant State licensure (where required)
• Proven CT proficiency
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• CT Certification/Registration (ARRT)
• One or more years of CT experience

Physical Requirements

• Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Standing
