Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a CT Technologist-PRN to operate CT scanners and deliver patient-centered imaging services. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and high-quality patient care across a casual, varied shift schedule.

You will perform CT procedures independently, adhere to radiology protocols, and contribute to departmental training while providing excellent service to referring providers and patients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an AMA approved radiography program.
• ARRT registered radiologic technologist in good standing.
• Licensed radiologic technologist in the applicable state, if required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to perform CT procedures independently.
• Imaging specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate designated CT scanner to produce diagnostic images.
• Respect safety standards and maintain patient records in RIS.
• Explain procedures and position patients for accurate imaging.
• Maintain equipment and assist with imaging protocol updates.
• Support training of new team members and share expertise.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a CT Technologist-PRN to join our team. As a CT Technologist-PRN, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide CT services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This is a casual position working various shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient CT Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for scanning imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
3. Performs routine and advanced scanning imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts scanning scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
7. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers

(5%) CT/Imaging Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform CT procedures independently
7. Certification in imaging specialty
