Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Oregon is seeking a CT Technologist to operate CT scanners and deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging with patient-centered care. You will perform routine and advanced CT procedures, adhere to safety standards, and maintain records in the RIS, collaborating with physicians to support accurate diagnoses.

The ideal candidate is ARRT registered, licensed in the state, CPR certified, with the ability to work independently and communicate clearly with patients.

Qualifications

  • Must have AMA approved school of radiography.
  • ARRT registered technologist in good standing.
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the appropriate state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to perform CT procedures independently.
  • Imaging specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned CT scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images.
  • Explain procedures and prepare patients for scanning while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Perform routine and advanced CT imaging with attention to dose reduction and quality.
  • Maintain patient records in RIS and comply with accreditation standards.
  • Assist with imaging protocol updates and equipment software upgrades.
  • Support training of new team members as applicable.

Job description

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a CT Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide CT services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week; shifts are 8 or 10 hours on requested days.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient CT Imaging
  1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  2. Explains and prepares patients for scanning imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
  3. Performs routine and advanced scanning imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  4. Adjusts scanning scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
  5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  6. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
  7. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
(5%) CT/Imaging Department Support
  1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  3. Assists with training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Required:
  1. High School diploma, or equivalent
  2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  3. ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform CT procedures independently
  7. Certification in imaging specialty
Preferred:
  1. Bilingual
