Job summary

TriCities Hospital in Hopewell, VA is seeking a CT Technologist PRN to join our Radiology team. You will perform CT procedures, prepare patients, administer contrast, and ensure radiation safety following ALARA principles.

The role requires ARRT CT and R credentials, ARRT (R) registered, at least 1 year radiology experience, and willingness to obtain CT registration within 6 months. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program or equivalent with ARRT registration.
• One year experience as Radiologic Technologist.
• One year CT procedures experience preferred.
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) registered; CT registration within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and collects information for procedures.
• Performs all CT procedures with ALARA safety.
• Operates Meditech, PACS, and eMar systems.
• Administers contrast media and performs venipuncture.
• Maintains patient comfort and safety; participates in QA activities.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.
• Performs all CT Procedures. Observant of patients’ conditions.
• Practices radiation safety as described in federal standards, utilizing ALARA and Radiation Right policies.
• Understands and operates electronic information systems including Meditech, PACS, PACS cube, eMar etc.
• Compiles appropriate records to expedite results.
• Administers contrast media as required.
• Performs venipuncture and IV site placement.
• Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of CT and to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT.
• Participates in Department QA/performance improvement projects.
• Assists radiologist with interventional procedures.
• Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

LICENSURE/EDUCATION:

• Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program or equivalent with appropriate National Registry(ies).Required
• One year experience as Radiologic Technologist Required
• One year experience in performing CT procedures Preferred
• ARRT (R) Registered Required
• ARRT (CT) Registered Required -must obtain within 6 months of hire or start in position
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Required
