Job summary

The Lutheran Health Network in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT equipment, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and ensure patient comfort and safety. You will prepare and position patients, maintain equipment, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver timely diagnostic results.

Strong attention to detail and communication are essential in this role, which may be required on a PRN basis.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of clinical radiology experience required.
  • 2-4 years CT experience preferred in an acute care setting.
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist (state license as required).
  • CT certification or eligibility within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Operates CT equipment and processing systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepares and positions patients appropriately for CT procedures.
  • Verifies patient identity and physician orders; screens for contraindications.
  • Performs point-of-care creatinine testing and calculates GFR when needed for contrast studies.
  • Administers contrast media per protocol and monitors for adverse reactions.
  • Explains procedures to patients and provides post-exam instructions.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team to deliver timely, patient-centered care.
  • Assists with interventional CT procedures as needed (biopsies, drain placements).
  • Reviews images for quality and communicates findings to radiology team.
  • Maintains CT equipment and reports malfunctions; adheres to safety guidelines.
