Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist to support three outpatient locations in Gurnee, Glenview, and Vernon Hills. This casual, non-benefited role has no guaranteed hours or set schedule, and requires adherence to imaging protocols and safety standards.

The CT Technologist will perform CT imaging with meticulous attention to ALARA principles, prepare and monitor patients, administer contrast when indicated, and ensure accurate documentation and image transfer to PACS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT)
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set‑up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
