Job Summary

Under the direction of the Lead CT Technologist, the CT Technologist utilizes computed tomography equipment to obtain diagnostic images for interpretation or intervention by the radiologist. Exhibits quality patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma plus satisfactory completion of two years of formal training in an approved school of Radiological Technology.
• Licensure: Must be ARRT certified in Radiography and CT and currently licensed by the State of Rhode Island. CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within 3 months from the date of hire is required.
• Experience: A minimum of six months of prior training or work experience in CT scan.

Working Conditions and Safety

Works in a well-lighted and ventilated area. Must meet annual safety training requirements and health-testing requirements such as TB skin test. Frequent patient contact requires adherence to universal precautions. May involve lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and prolonged sitting, standing, and walking. May be exposed to electrical and radiant energy and physical conditions of patients.
