Job summary

AdventHealth in Killeen, TX is seeking a Full-Time Radiology CT Technologist to join the Night shift. Successful candidates will perform high-quality CT exams, adhere to ALARA principles, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.

Requirements include 1+ year radiology experience, ARRT RT(R) and MRT certifications, BLS, and completing or actively enrolled in AdventHealth CT training. On-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in radiology.
• CT training program completed or active enrollment in AdventHealth CT training program (Preferred).
• Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R) (ARRT) and MRT licenses; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Position patients accurately using immobilization devices when necessary, maintaining ALARA principles.
• Follow department protocols for patient identification, consent, and time-out procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS systems.
• Educate patients about exams and complete studies in a timely manner.

Job Description:

Full Time Nights

Mondays - Wednesdays 7pm-7:30am & Thursdays 5:30pm - 9:30pm

• Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Associate [Preferred]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years of experience in radiology [Required]

Additional Information:

• Completion of a CT training program OR active enrollment in an approved AdventHealth Workforce Development CT training program. [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R)(ARRT) [Required]
• Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) - Texas Medical Board (TMB) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
