Job summary

Wellstar Health System Cobb in Austell, Georgia is seeking a FT Weekend Night CT Technologist to join a collaborative care team. Technologists are valued clinical professionals contributing to diagnostic imaging and patient care.

This role supports a Thursday through Sunday 7p–5a schedule, with sign-on bonuses and a comprehensive benefits program designed to support well-being, career growth, and education through Wellstar CareerCare.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain diagnostic quality with ALARA principles.
• Clean and disinfect rooms and equipment; report issues promptly.
• Verify orders and patient identifiers before exams; obtain clinical history.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients using AIDET; reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout visits.
• Administer contrast per protocol when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers/shielding per protocol.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and complete final documentation in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock life-support equipment as needed.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes; support department flow.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology Required

Certifications

• ARRT‑R (Radiography)
• ARRT‑CT – ARRT Computed Tomography
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post‑care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age‑appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfer/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed)
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life‑support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
