Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high‑quality imaging and a supportive patient experience within a collaborative radiology team.

You will perform CT exams, ensure diagnostic image quality, and adhere to ALARA while prioritizing patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role offers sign‑on and relocation incentives, full benefits, and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology Required.
  • ARRT‑R (Radiography) certification.
  • ARRT‑CT – ARRT Computed Tomography certification.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently and maintain ALARA dose levels.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
  • Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and identify patients before exams.
  • Explain procedures and post‑care using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
  • Administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture when applicable.
  • Position patients, apply markers and shielding as indicated.
  • Review images for diagnostic quality and reimage if needed.
  • Document and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers and retrievals.
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock equipment as needed.
  • Organize daily workflows and support department operations and compliance.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Experience

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, using your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images.
  • Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
  • Explain procedures, prep, and post‑care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age‑appropriate care throughout the visit.
  • Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
  • Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
  • Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed).
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain/restock crash cart and life‑support equipment as required.
  • Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow.
  • Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor.
