Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT to perform routine imaging on scheduled and emergent cases. The role emphasizes patient identification, ALARA principles, and clear communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist.
• RT/CT certification is required with ARRT and must be maintained.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine CT imaging examinations on scheduled and emergency basis.
• Reviews requisitions and abstracts data from charts to determine appropriateness.
• Identifies patient with two identifiers.
• Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g., 3D) and selects appropriate equipment.
• Explains procedures to patients/parents and discusses Radiation exposure (ALARA).
• Maintains documentation, HIPAA compliance, and department workflow.

Position Summary:

Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations.
• Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
• Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g. 3D).
• Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
• Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
• Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
• Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
• Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
• Practices High Reliability Training.
• Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
• Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section.
• Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
• Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Complies with ETU.
• Complies with HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Associates degree, Allied Health. Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience:

• 1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist

Licensure/ Certifications:

• RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
• Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
• BLS certification.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
