Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a CT technologist to perform CT examinations in inpatient and outpatient settings, while collecting pertinent clinical data and maintaining accurate patient records.

Under supervision of a Radiologist, you will position patients, administer contrast as needed, and ensure timely delivery of exams to physicians. Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba may be required, with potential signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
• ARRT or NMTCB certification in diagnostic CT.
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
• Verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
• Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
• Completes all records, paperwork and billings promptly.
• Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
• Sends exams to PACS for physicians to review and performs QC on images.
• Maintains inventory and assists with supplies purchasing.
• Performs CT exams using contrast media under Radiologist or ER Physician supervision.
• Establishes IV access for contrast injection as required.
• Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba for operational support.

Job description

Hiring Range: $34.51 - $62.13. Please note that the final offer may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, Weekends (Saturday and Sunday).

Scheduled Hours: 7-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a.

Shift: 4 - Mixed Shift, 12 Hours (United States of America).

Hours: 0.

Cost Center: 10014 - 3578 Cat Scan.

Major Responsibilities

• Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
• Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
• Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly.
• Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
• Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and appropriately sends exams to PACS for the physicians to review.
• Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.
• Assists with other job-related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.
• Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, performs CT exams using contrast media according to department policy and procedures.
• Establishes IV access for contrast injection according to department policy and procedure.
• Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support.
• The float requirements only apply to UMass Memorial Nashoba Valley's newly hired staff.

Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education

• Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or NMTCB certified in diagnostic CT.
• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Position Qualifications

Required

• AART certification in Radiology or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine required. RTR licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Must take the initial exam for the ARRT certification in CT Scan within 6 months of the completion of the required competencies.
• Exam delays will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
• Must pass the ARRT CT certification exam within 12 months.
• BLS certification with 30 days of hire.
