Job summary

University of Vermont Health - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures across varied settings under licensed providers and in accordance with hospital policies and NY state guidelines.

Responsibilities include assisting in all Radiology Department operations, collaborating with physicians and staff, and providing compassionate, high-quality care. On-call CT duties are required per the union contract, with a strong focus on patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS DOH radiography license and ARRT registration.
• Must obtain ARRT CT credentials within two years; eligibility reviewed with manager.
• Must be NYSDOH certified to inject IV contrast within two months of orientation.
• On-call CT duties required per union contract.
• Requires sensitivity and interpersonal skills for dealing with patients and families.
• Requires effective communication with physicians and staff.
• Requires ability to think and act quickly in stressful situations.
• Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
• One year radiographer experience preferred.

Job description

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.

Primary: 7:00pm-7:30am

Secondary: 3:00pm-3:30am

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs CT procedures in a variety of settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers in an ethical and professional manner according to hospital and departmental policy and according to any applicable New York State guidelines. Must assist in all aspects of the Radiology Department operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health and be registered by ARRT (Radiographer).
2. Must obtain ARRT (CT) credentials within two years Eligibility requirements will be reviewed by employee and manager/supervisor.
3. In the event that an employee has unsuccessfully attempted to become registered within the required timeframe, the employee is granted a six-month extension to become registered / credentialed.
4. Must be New York State Department of Health certified to inject IV contrast within two (2) months of completing the orientation period.
5. Will be responsible for on-call in CT per union contract.
6. Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
7. Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
8. Requires an ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
9. Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
10. One year of Radiographer experience preferred.
