Job summary

Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Inc. is seeking a CT technologist to perform CT procedures across different settings per provider orders. You will assist in radiology operations and patient care while maintaining ethical and professional standards.

The ideal candidate is licensed by NYS Dept. of Health, registered with ARRT for CT, with BLS certification and the ability to inject IV contrast. On-call duties and union guidelines apply, with emphasis on compassionate patient interaction.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health and registered by ARRT (Radiographer).
• Must obtain ARRT (CT) credentials within two years; eligibility reviewed by supervisor.
• Extension possible if registration is delayed beyond two years.
• Must be NYS DOH certified to inject IV contrast within two months of orientation.
• On-call CT responsibilities per union contract.
• Requires strong interpersonal and compassionate interaction with patients and families.
• Must have clear, effective communication with physicians and staff in any situation.
• Ability to think and act quickly to deliver quality care in stressfull situations.
• BLS certification required (or obtained within 3 months).
• One year radiographer experience preferred.

Primary Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Weekend Needs: Every Other

Salary Range: Min $37.34 Mid $45.74 Max $54.14

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.

Primary: 7:00pm-7:30am

Secondary: 3:00pm-3:30am

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs CT procedures in a variety of settings and locations on patients as ordered by licensed providers in an ethical and professional manner according to hospital and departmental policy and according to any applicable New York State guidelines. Must assist in all aspects of the Radiology Department operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health and be registered by ARRT (Radiographer).
2. Must obtain ARRT (CT) credentials within two years Eligibility requirements will be reviewed by employee and manager/supervisor.
3. In the event that an employee has unsuccessfully attempted to become registered within the required timeframe, the employee is granted a six-month extension to become registered / credentialed.
4. Must be New York State Department of Health certified to inject IV contrast within two (2) months of completing the orientation period.
5. Will be responsible for on-call in CT per union contract.
6. Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
7. Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.
8. Requires an ability to think and act quickly in order to deliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.
9. Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
10. One year of Radiographer experience preferred.
