Job summary

AZ General Hospital Laveen is seeking a CT Technologist Lead to capture high‑quality diagnostic images for radiologists, supporting accurate diagnoses. You will acquire cross‑sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and organs while delivering compassionate patient care and maintaining a calm, reassuring environment throughout the imaging process.

The role requires strict adherence to imaging protocols, patient safety standards, and radiology workflow knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Completion of approved ARRT or equivalent radiologic technologist program.
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RT).
  • Arizona Medical Radiographer license (AZ).
  • American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers (CT CPRBLS).
  • Five years of radiology tech experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT scans according to protocols and radiologist recommendations.
  • Ensure patient safety and ALARA principles on every exam.
  • Enter and verify patient information on scanner and PACS.
  • Perform work-ups and reconstructions on the 3-D workstation.
  • Complete required hospital forms and documentation per protocol.
  • Document exams in RadNet and manage incident/contrast forms.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our CT Technologist Lead, you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions. Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process. To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.

  • Performs CT scans based on current protocols and/or radiologist recommendations. CT scans include but are not limited to: Trauma/ER, Perfusions, Routine Body, Routine Neuro, Cardiac and Interventional Procedures, Utilizes good radiation safety practices for patients, self and others. Uses ALARA on every exam when selecting parameters for exam based on patient age and habitats.
  • Displays competency performing procedures; follows National Patient Safety Goals for two patient identifier, hand hygiene and universal precautions. Always produces high quality diagnostic exams.
  • Accurately enters, selects and/or merges the correct patient identification information on the scanner and in PAC system.
  • Accurately and proficiently performs work-ups, such as perfusions & reconstructions, on the 3-D workstation.
  • Accurately and thoroughly completes hospital/department specific forms per protocol. Completes exams in Radnet. Completes incident reports/extravasations forms. Completes patient contrast information forms.
  • Scans in documentation as required into PACS.

  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
  • Medical Radiographer: AZ
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)
  • CT Radiology Tech: AZ
  • Five years of rad tech experience.
