Job Summary:

The CT Technologist, under the direction of the radiologist, DI Administration, and/or Lead CT Technologist, performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for CT scans. The technologist assists physicians in selecting practical applications and technical factors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of CT exams, including invasive procedures and IV insertion.
• Explains the procedure to the patient.
• Sets, adjusts, manipulates, controls, and maintains complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for diagnosis.
• Administers prescribed contrast media according to guidelines.
• Assists in interventional CT exams.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Completed two years of an approved Radiological Technology Program.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
• Current license in the State of Connecticut.
• Active CT registration and license in Connecticut.
• Maintains appropriate CEUs to meet ARRT guidelines.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire.
• Approved contrast injection training per D.I. Medical Director.
• Minimum of 1 year practical experience performing related duties, including IV insertion, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer skills: Mainframe systems, Teleradiology.
• High technical aptitude with in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
