Job summary

Frederick Health seeks a CT Technologist in Training to advance skill in computed tomography with supervision from radiologists and radiology leadership. The program runs toward becoming a fully qualified CT Technologist.

Training covers patient positioning, contrast administration, biopsies assistance, and PACS/EMR workflow under the Radiology Manager and supervising radiologists. The role begins with on‑the‑job instruction and progresses to independent duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• MD State Certification as Medical Radiation Technologist.
• Minimum of one year experience as Radiologic Technologist OR on-the-job clinical experience within Frederick Health Radiology Department.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Learns all CT scanner functions.
• Monitors equipment status indicators to prevent damage.
• Performs correct patient positioning.
• Assists radiologist during CT guided biopsies and aspirations.
• Loads contrast injector.
• Performs Phlebotomy.
• Adheres to Standard precautions and sterile technique.
• Interviews and screens patients concerning contrast material sensitivity.
• Obtains informed consent.
• Injects iodinated contrast.
• Ensures all images are in PACS and ready for radiologist interpretation.
• EMR documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
