Qualifications

  • ARRT CT certification required; licensed by Texas Medical Board as Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • BLS certification required by first day of employment.
  • Associates degree in Radiologic Sciences or AMA-approved school; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review physician orders for accuracy and appropriate CT protocol; screen for contrast allergies and contraindications.
  • Explain procedures to patients and obtain necessary clinical information and consent.
  • Perform CT examinations with proper labeling and documentation; ensure patient safety and ALARA radiation principles.
  • Quality Control: perform QC testing and report issues to service engineers or physics leadership.
  • Maintain QA compliance including ACR requirements and documentation in the health record.
  • Assist in orientation and training for new hires and students; collaborate within the imaging team.

Education

ARRT CT Certification
Texas Medical Board licensure as Medical Radiologic Technologist
BLS certification
Associates degree in Radiologic Sciences or AMA-approved program
Bachelor's degree preferred
