Job summary

The Medical Center Enterprise CT Technologist II (CT Tech) is responsible for performing advanced CT imaging to assist in diagnosis while ensuring patient safety. This PRN position covers vacations and open shifts with 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts.

The role requires expertise in CT protocols, contrast administration, and radiation protection, with strong PACS/RIS/EMR skills and collaboration with radiologists to deliver high-quality studies.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of clinical radiologic experience
• 3-5 years CT Technologist experience in acute care hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs CT imaging procedures following protocols to produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Prepares patients for CT exams, screens contraindications and positions correctly.
• Administers contrast media and monitors for adverse reactions.
• Uses I-Stat to test creatinine and calculate GFR for contrast studies.
• Assists in interventional CT procedures and biopsies.
• Adheres to ALARA and radiation safety standards.
• Performs quality control checks on CT equipment.
• Documents orders and patient history in RIS/EMR.
• Trains and mentors CT technologists and staff.
