Summary

Performs CT scans of designated anatomy using professional judgment while imaging with regard to technical quality according to physician specifications. Provides courteous and professional delivery of CT technical exams and procedures while adhering to radiation safety precautions. Supports patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, maintaining confidentiality of PHI and HIPAA-related information.

Job Duties
  • Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely, including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
  • Reviews all images of all exams, repeating images as necessary for best results.
  • Communicates with patients, explaining procedures in lay terms and keeping them informed.
  • Prepares patient images for interpretation, administers contrast media per protocol.
  • Completes technical notes, verifies images, and sends exams to PACS promptly.
  • Notifies physicians of adverse reactions or changes in patient condition.
  • Reviews patient charts/scripts prior to exams to verify information.
  • Prepares patients by assessing needs and providing education.
  • Operates CT scanner for data acquisition, image reconstruction, and quality control.
  • Attends departmental meetings and practices timely completion of work.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Technical School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited Radiography program.
  • Less than 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Ability to provide proper patient care.
  • Knowledge to perform scans on patients of all ages.
  • Proficiency in CT software and post-processing applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days.
  • State of Pennsylvania Radiologic Technologist (RT) registration upon hire or within 1 year for ARRT certification.
  • Certified Nuclear Med Tech (CNMT) within 1 year if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Health Science or related field.
  • Knowledge of venipuncture.
Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs., frequent standing/walking, and activities like kneeling, bending, and CPR as needed.
