Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a CT Technologist II to join our radiology team. This role involves operating CT equipment, obtaining high-quality images, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, preparing patients, administering contrast as needed, and mentoring staff or students. A Radiologic Technology degree and CT certification are required, with at least one year of radiologic and CT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required.
• CT technology certification required.
• Minimum 1 year Radiologic Technology experience required.
• Minimum 1 year CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient orders prior to day of procedure to ensure accuracy and to avoid delay in patient care.
• Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
• Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
• Prepare to operate CT equipment to capture the appropriate images following the protocol set forth by the radiologist, and determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
• Position and instruct patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required.
• Perform and complete procedures as required based on physician’s order, and a variety of diagnostic procedures (x-ray); including but not limited to digital and mobile imaging as needed at applicable locations.
• Administer contrast dye when necessary to enhance imaging and ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
• Start I.V., load and operate power injector, and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
• Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
• May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.
