JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Summary:Assists the radiologists and other staff physicians with invasive procedures, patient scheduling, clerical and image processing functions, participating in the CT call plan, managing the flow of patients and processes, and working in general diagnostic radiology when needed. Performs diagnostic radiology and CT procedures by utilizing equipment and employing techniques and procedures that are appropriate to the entire span of ages served in accordance with accepted standards of practice, and demonstrating expertise in limiting radiation exposure to patients and other members of the health care team.
What You'll Need:- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA and ARRT approved program in Radiologic Technology required.
- Must meet all required elements of competency checklists for advancement level and have 6-months experience as a registered CT Technologist.
- Registered and certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography.
- BLS (CPR) certification.
- Registry eligible for CT allowed and must become registered within 12 months of hire.
What You'll Do:- Perform or assist in performing quality CT and diagnostic and interventional procedures as applicable, on all equipment utilized by work assignment. Prepare power injector and IV contrast for administration and administers contrast according to protocol and contrast administration guidelines. Maintain appropriate education and credentials.
- Maintain coordination of activities with others to accomplish work objectives.
- Ensure readiness of emergency equipment and supplies; recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergency situations.
- Maintain knowledge of procedures, equipment and systems used to perform job functions. Confirms availability of supplies and readiness of equipment.
- Ensure accurate patient records via correct data entry, validation and archival of images.
- Provide instruction, education and consultation to health care personnel and patients to promote improved quality of patient care.
- Provide emergency on-call coverage after normal working hours as required.
- Provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with Age/Development Specific Guidelines for the age groups served when participating in patient care.
- Ensure readiness of emergency equipment and supplies and recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergency situations and provides on-call coverage after normal working hours as required.
