Job summary

AdventHealth in Minneola, FL seeks a CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations, adhere to ALARA principles, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.

Responsibilities include IV contrast administration, patient positioning, and documentation in EMR/PACS. Requires CT training and ARRT certifications; PRN Day shifts with on-site duties at the Florida facility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's preferred.
  • 1+ year radiology experience with CT training preferred.
  • ARRT RT(R) and RT(CT) certification required.
  • Proficiency in English and strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of PACS and EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality CT examinations following orders and protocols.
  • Ensure ALARA and radiation safety principles during all procedures.
  • Prepare and administer IV contrast; monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinicians to ensure appropriate imaging.
  • Document exams accurately in EMR and PACS.

Job Description:

Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents. Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages. Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications. Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions. Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]

  • Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the department [Required]
