Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  2. Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  3. Prepares and/or administers, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  4. Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality; verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, and performs post-processing of data if applicable.
  5. Educates and monitors students and other healthcare providers.
  6. Assists a licensed practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures.
  7. Performs computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

Qualifications
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) is required upon hire.
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB certification prior to their first day of employment.
