Job description

Job Summary $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants!! This posting reflects an opening for a CT Technologist I. We are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role, including CT Technologist II, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply.

Under general supervision of the Radiologist, performs CT procedures to acquire digital images for diagnosis and treatment. Plans and performs all CT procedures and post-processing using advanced technology, clinical criteria, anatomy, and established protocols. Ensures protocols are based on guidelines and monitors dose data, notifying when scans exceed preset levels.

Job Duties
  • Operates CT scanners, power injectors, and computer systems to acquire images for radiologists.
  • Maintains knowledge to operate different CT systems at multiple locations.
  • Follows protocols based on Image Gently Guidelines, monitors dose data, and notifies when scans exceed preset levels.
  • Knows clinical histories to match protocols and understands major organ and vascular systems for thoracic, abdominal, pelvic, neuro, and musculoskeletal regions.
  • Obtains CT images according to protocols, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, shielding, and technical factors.
  • Performs CT interventional procedures and CTA imaging, including advanced studies like TAVR, EVAR, and cardiac imaging.
  • Maintains pharmacology knowledge to ensure lab results are obtained before exams.
  • Understands physiology and physics to produce quality scans and reduce patient dose.
  • Interprets technical factors to improve scan quality and speed.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. The role involves fulfilling job obligations and complying with policies. Additional department-specific skills may be required.
