Job summary

Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking a CT Technologist to operate CT equipment, producing cross-sectional images used by radiologists for diagnosis. You will perform CT as well as general radiography and fluoroscopy as needed, while maintaining patient records and HIPAA-compliant data handling.

The role requires ARRT CT certification, CA licensure, and BLS; fluorescence licensing is required if fluoroscopy is used. This is a day shift in a busy radiology department.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
• Registered by the ARRT: RT(R)(CT)(ARRT) OR RT(R)(ARRT) required.
• Radiologic Tech license in CA required.
• CT certification required or preferred (CA/OR/HI)
• BLS certification required
• Fluoroscopy license required if fluoroscopy is used
• Venipuncture certification required in CA if venipuncture performed

Responsibilities

• Operates CT equipment and produces cross-sectional images for radiologist interpretation.

Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. Performs a variety of imaging procedures not limited to CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA, if employee operates fluoroscopy equipment
• Venipuncture certification: Required in CA, if employees performs venipuncture to administer contrast materials

Facility Specific License/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location.
• Maintains accurate records, files and billing information. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
