Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Rockwall, TX is seeking a CT Technologist to perform complex CT exams and ensure high-quality imaging. You will explain procedures to patients, select appropriate protocols, and work within department guidelines including contrast administration.

The role requires ARRT-CT and CMRT certifications, BCLS, and at least 1 year CT experience or radiologic tech experience with CT training. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 1 year radiologic technologist experience without ARRT-CT or equivalent CT experience
  • ARRT certification in Radiology and CT required; CMRT certification required
  • BCLS certification required prior to independent patient care

Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patient or guardian prior to and during exam
  • Imaging correct anatomical area as per protocols
  • Perform complex procedures including age-related criteria and developmental considerations
  • Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, adjust technique or repeat procedures
  • Correctly send and transfer images to PACS
  • Assess patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
  • Operate, care for and maintain equipment
  • Prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
  • Administer contrast media and other medications per guidelines
  • Maintain room and equipment to sanitary standards between patients

Work hours:

Full Time, working 3 twelve-hour shifts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 pm to 7am

Here’s What You Need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology (required) or Associate Degree (preferred)
  • 1 year radiologic technologist experience without ARRT-CT (required) or No experience with ARRT-CT (required)
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) (required) and ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) (required) or ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CT) (if 1 year radiology technician exp) within 12 Months (required) and CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB (required) and BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)
What You Will Do

A Texas Health CT Technologist is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations.

  • process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.
  • correctly send and transfer images to PACS.
  • assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions.
  • operate, care for and maintain equipment.
  • prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies).
  • administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
  • maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors).
