Job summary

Penn Medicine's Lancaster General Hospital seeks a CT Technologist to provide diagnostic radiographic CT services and ensure patient safety and comfort. You will position patients, operate CT equipment, and collaborate with radiologists to optimize imaging protocols.

Requirements include ARRT/NMTCB credentials and CPR; CT credentials within 18 months of hire. Sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for eligible internal and external candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.
• Active ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology, CT, or Radiation Therapy; or NMTCB certification.
• CT credentials from ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months from date of hire.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine diagnostic radiographic CT procedures with proper patient positioning and technique.
• Receives requests and consults with Radiologists as necessary.
• Greets patients, confirms identifications and explains procedures to patient and family.
• Operates hospital computer systems and documents information in the EMR.
• Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.
• Accurately utilizes all computer-related equipment, including EHR and intranet.

SIGN-ON BONUS

Eligible internal and external candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00, based on weekly hours worked, with a two-year commitment.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

Full-time (40 hours/week), night shift

• Hours are from 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation
• Up to 6 weeks of on call per year
• Every 3rd holiday per year

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for providing radiographic care for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic CT procedures through proper patient positioning and technique selection, in accordance with established LG protocols, policies and procedures.
• Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with Radiologists as necessary.
• Greets patients–confirming their identifications performing the correct procedures as directed and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed.
• Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the electronic medical record. Documents other information as required.
• Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.

• Accurately and appropriately utilizes all computer related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email and the intranet.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.
• Active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, or Radiation Therapy; or active certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or in Computed Tomography.
• CT credentials from either ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months from date of hire.
• CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
