Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Lancaster General Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT studies, ensuring patient positioning and image quality per protocol. You will collaborate with Radiologists, manage requests, and document in the EMR while delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced radiology department.

The role requires ARRT/NMTCB CT credentials within 18 months of hire and CPR within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy program.
  • Active ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, or NMTCB certification.
  • CT credentials within 18 months from date of hire; CPR certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all routine diagnostic CT procedures with correct patient positioning and technique.
  • Receives requests, checks for special instructions, and consults with Radiologists as needed.
  • Greet patients, confirm identifications, and explain procedures clearly to patient and family.
  • Operates hospital computer system and documents information in the EMR; completes billing procedures.

LOCATION: Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA

SIGN-ON BONUS: Eligible internal and external candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00, based on weekly hours worked, with a two-year commitment.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Full-time (36 hours/week), evening shift
  • 3-12 hour shifts from 2:30p.m.–3:00a.m.
  • Every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation
  • Up to 6 weeks of on-call per year
  • Two full on-call weekends per year
  • Every 3rd holiday per year

  • 3 12-hour shifts/wk Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00a.m.-11:00p.m.
  • Every 3rd or 4th weekend rotation
  • Two full on-call weekends per year
  • Up to 6 weeks of on-call per year

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for providing radiographic care for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic CT procedures through proper patient positioning and technique selection, in accordance with established LG protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with Radiologists as necessary.
  • Greets patients--confirming their identifications performing the correct procedures as directed and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed.
  • Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the electronic medical record. Documents other information as required.
  • Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.
  • Accurately and appropriately utilizes all computer related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email and the intranet.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.
  • Active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, or Radiation Therapy; or active certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or in Computed Tomography.
  • CT credentials from either ARRT or NMTCB within 18 months from date of hire.
  • CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two (2) years of advanced imaging experience.
