Job summary

PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking a qualified CT Technologist to perform computed tomography exams with emphasis on image quality and patient safety in an acute care setting. You will work with radiology colleagues to image vasculature and organ systems, manage contrast administration, and maintain radiation safety standards while delivering compassionate patient care.

Applicants should hold a California CRT and ARRT CT certification, with experience in diagnostic radiography and acute CT;

Qualifications

• Active California CRT licensure and ARRT CT certification are required.
• Three years’ diagnostic radiography experience in an acute care facility is expected.
• One year in a CT setting within an acute care facility is preferred.

• Perform CT exams with emphasis on image quality and patient safety.
• Assist with contrast administration and manage patient care during procedures.
• Maintain radiation protection standards and accurate positioning for each exam.

Job description

Performs computed tomography exams and procedures with maximal image quality, patient safety and comfort while maintaining the lowest possible radiation exposure. Exams and procedures include all parts of the vasculature structures and organ systems.

Required Skills

• Technical skills in computed tomography
• Knowledge of all vasculature and organ systems
• Knowledge of all CT guided invasive procedures
• Skilled in the use of contrast agents
• Basic patient care and assessment techniques
• Knowledgeable in radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection and medical terminology.
• High degree of accuracy in positioning and radiation exposure techniques

Required Experience

Required:

• State of California CRT
• ARRT certification in CT
• Venipuncture certification and/or documentation of training
• CPR/BLS
• Clinical training – Three (3) years’ experience in diagnostic radiography in an acute care facility
• One (1) year in a CT setting of an acute care facility

Preferred:

• Three (3) years’ experience scanning in CT in an acute care facility
• Fluoroscopy certification
