Overview

Produces CT Scans as ordered by a physician following the established policies of the Department. Able to provide appropriate care for patients served, regardless of age. Must provide coverage on weekends, holidays, and off-shifts as deemed necessary to maintain departmental services. This job description and requirements have been approved by the medical chairman of the diagnostic imaging department and the executive committee of the medical staff.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs all diagnostic radiographs and associated film processing.
  2. Uses technical skill and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy to perform CT exams using appropriate imaging protocols, independently and efficiently.
  3. Participates in workflow activities to meet departmental goals and ensure efficiency.
  4. Assists schedulers, physicians, nursing staff, and others with scheduling, requisitions, pre-authorization, patient preparation, and communication.
  5. Provides quality and compassionate patient care to ensure cooperation, safety, and satisfaction. Explains procedures thoroughly and offers emotional support.
  6. Performs record keeping and customer service functions to ensure proper billing and communication of feedback.
  7. Engages in educational activities to further professional knowledge and assist in training others.
  8. Enhances patient experience by achieving satisfaction scores as per department standards, presenting a friendly and courteous demeanor, and encouraging a patient and family-centered environment.
Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree in Radiology preferred. ARRT, CT advanced registry required unless trainee, with 6 months to obtain.

Experience: Minimum one year in CT, unless trainee.

Licensure: ARRT and CT State License required. CT Advanced Certification required unless trainee, with 6 months to obtain.

Skills: Ability to produce high-quality CT scans using complex protocols.

Physical Demands: May be exposed to infectious diseases or hazardous materials. Standing and walking most of the day, working with lightweight equipment, occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling. Must have manual dexterity, hearing, observation skills, and the ability to assist with lifting patients with physical problems.
