Job summary

Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas seeks a CT Technologist to join our Radiology team. The CT Tech will acquire diagnostic CT images, administer contrast, and assist with invasive procedures under radiologist supervision.

We offer diverse shifts (M-F 3pm-11pm, 2pm-10pm, and Fri-Mon 1pm-9pm) with a $10,000 sign-on bonus, plus comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Science required.
• ARRT CT certification (R) required or eligible.
• CT experience preferred; licensure per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Acquire diagnostic CT images under radiologist supervision.
• Operate CT equipment following ALARA principles.
• Inject and manage contrast for enhanced anatomy visualization.
• Assist with invasive procedures as requested.

What You Will Do

The CT Technologist works under the supervision of the Radiologists and management team to acquire diagnostic images for interpretation utilizing ALARA principles; injects and distributes contrast for anatomy enhancement; assist with invasive procedures as requested.

Required Education

• Associates in Radiologic Science
• Certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography A.R.R.T. (R) (CT)

Preferred Education

• Bachelors in Radiologic Science

Required Skills

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision making and patient care skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, and radiation protection and safety.
• Knowledge of radiographic physics.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and cross sectional anatomy.
• Ability to determine exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic images with a minimum exposure to patients.
• Ability to examine images for the purpose of evaluation of techniques, positions, and other related qualities.
• Ability to position patient and adjust equipment to produce desired or optimum image of desired anatomy.
• Skill in safe and efficient operation of CT equipment and quality control.
• Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date.
• Veni-puncture and comprehensive knowledge of proper use of contrast and injection of such contrast for patient exams.
• Ability to determine proper protocols to achieve optimum diagnostic images with high degree of efficiency.
• Maintains ability to learn and perform interventional procedures as required in CT environment.

Required Licensure/Registration/Certification

R.T. (R) (CT) ARRT, M.R.T. Texas Medical Board, CPR

Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification

Multiple modality registries from ARRT

Required Experience

Minimum 6 months experience in CT

Preferred Experience

Greater than 1 year experience in CT
