Job summary

Peterson Health in Kerrville, TX, seeks a CT Technologist to perform imaging under radiologist supervision. Shift options include M-F 3pm-11pm, M-F 2pm-10pm, and Fri-Mon 1pm-9pm. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered. Responsibilities include acquiring diagnostic images, contrast administration, and supporting interventional CT procedures.

Requirements: ARRT CT, Texas MRT, CPR, and at least 6 months CT experience; AS degree in Radiologic Science with preferred Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

What you will do:

The CT Technologist works under the supervision of the Radiologists and management team to acquire diagnostic images for interpretation utilizing ALARA principles; injects and distributes contrast for anatomy enhancement; assist with invasive procedures as requested.

Required Education:

Associates in Radiologic Science

Certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography A.R.R.T. (R) (CT)

Preferred Education:

Bachelors in Radiologic Science

Required Skills:

• 1. Excellent organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision making and patient care skills.
• 2. Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, and radiation protection and safety.
• 3. Knowledge of radiographic physics.
• 4. Knowledge of medical terminology and cross sectional anatomy.
• 5. Ability to determine exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic images with a minimum exposure to patients.
• 6. Ability to examine images for the purpose of evaluation of techniques, positions, and other related qualities.
• 7. Ability to position patient and adjust equipment to produce desired or optimum image of desired anatomy.
• 8. Skill in safe and efficient operation of CT equipment and quality control.
• 9. Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date.
• 10. Veni-puncture and comprehensive knowledge of proper use of contrast and injection of such contrast for patient exams.
• 11. Ability to determine proper protocols to achieve optimum diagnostic images with high degree of efficiency.
• 12. Maintains ability to learn and perform interventional procedures as required in CT environment.

Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:

R.T. (R) (CT) ARRT, M.R.T. Texas Medical Board, CPR

Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:

Multiple modality registries from ARRT

Required Experience:

Minimum 6 months experience in CT

Preferred Experience:

Greater than 1 year experience in CT
