Job summary

Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas seeks a CT Technologist to join our radiology team. The CT Tech will acquire diagnostic images under radiologists and management, following ALARA principles, and assist with contrast administration and invasive procedures as needed.

We offer a sign-on bonus of $10,000 and a supportive environment across multiple shifts. Qualified candidates hold ARRT CT certification and an Associate degree in Radiologic Science, with a Bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates in Radiologic Science required.
• Certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography ARRT (R) (CT) required.
• Bachelor's in Radiologic Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquire diagnostic CT images under radiologists and management using ALARA principles.

What You Will Do

The CT Technologist works under the supervision of the Radiologists and management team to acquire diagnostic images for interpretation utilizing ALARA principles; injects and distributes contrast for anatomy enhancement; assist with invasive procedures as requested.

Required Education

• Associates in Radiologic Science
• Certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography A.R.R.T. (R) (CT)

Preferred Education

• Bachelors in Radiologic Science

Required Skills

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal relationship, decision making and patient care skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, techniques, and radiation protection and safety.
• Knowledge of radiographic physics.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and cross sectional anatomy.
• Ability to determine exposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic images with a minimum exposure to patients.
• Ability to examine images for the purpose of evaluation of techniques, positions, and other related qualities.
• Ability to position patient and adjust equipment to produce desired or optimum image of desired anatomy.
• Skill in safe and efficient operation of CT equipment and quality control.
• Ability to deviate from normal techniques when necessary to develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date.
• Veni-puncture and comprehensive knowledge of proper use of contrast and injection of such contrast for patient exams.
• Ability to determine proper protocols to achieve optimum diagnostic images with high degree of efficiency.
• Maintains ability to learn and perform interventional procedures as required in CT environment.

Required Licensure/Registration/Certification

R.T. (R) (CT) ARRT, M.R.T. Texas Medical Board, CPR

Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification

Multiple modality registries from ARRT

Required Experience

Minimum 6 months experience in CT

Preferred Experience

Greater than 1 year experience in CT
