Advocate Health Care seeks a CT technologist to perform computed tomography procedures under radiologist supervision. The role includes patient positioning, selecting technical factors, and providing patient instruction.
Qualifications include AMA-approved radiology education, ARRT CT certification, CPR, and IEMA accreditation. You will mentor colleagues, work rotating shifts, and participate in quality control within a fast-paced CT suite.

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs computerized tomographic procedures at a technical level requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for computerized tomography scanning. Assumes responsibilities for designed areas or procedures as required.
Production of scans, positions, and immobilization of patients. Selects proper technical factors. Ensures patient is well informed about procedure and other relevant positioning information. Responsibility for diagnostic procedures requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimum results. Responsible for capturing appropriate exam charges, updates to procedure files, reimbursement codes etc., with the HIS/RIS Computer System, as well as training and overseeing department personnel following HIS/RIS Procedures checks daily log to see that day's exams are appropriately completed. Ensures that procedures sent to PACS are verified to enable radiologist interpretation of the procedure. Performs 3~D reconstruction, CT angiography and is proficient in use of AWW work station. Injection of appropriate contrast material into a vein to visualize anatomical structures under the supervision of a Radiologist and following department guidelines. Provision of radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Maintenance of adequate records, orderliness, and cleanliness of CT suite. Required to perform quality control tests and document results maintains a quality protocol to computerize and enhance images. Completes assigned CQI projects and mandatory inservices as assigned. Maintain awareness of technological changes and advances in CT.
