Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a CT Technologist to perform computerized tomography procedures and ensure high-quality images in a part-time night shift.

The role requires CT certification, AMA-approved radiology training, and current BLS certification. You will prepare patients, position them for scans, and maintain imaging equipment while following safety protocols. Night shifts include a sign-on bonus and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • If not CT certified, cross training from another ARRT modality to become CT certified within 12 months.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent is required before start date and valid beyond start date.
  • Lead: CT Technologist certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient history and explains procedures to foster comfort and meet patient needs.
  • Operates and maintains tomography scanner equipment.
  • Positions patients and explains the process to capture the requested images.
  • Administers medications within the technologist's scope as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Performs quality assurance and enforces radiation safety to reduce exposure.
  • Maintains documentation in paper and electronic formats.
  • Ensures supplies are available for quality testing and testing routines.
  • Performs routine maintenance and checks on imaging equipment per protocol.
  • May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education

AMA-approved school of radiology technology
Associate degree in radiology
Certified CT Technologist (CT)
ARRT General Radiologic Technology
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent)

Job description

Position Summary:

Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.

  • Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to tomography scanner equipment.

  • In addition to conducting scans, prepares patients for these diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.

  • Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.

  • Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.

  • Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.

  • Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.

  • Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.

  • May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.

  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.



CT Technologist Sign on Bonus for Nights- $15,000 for a 2-year commitment

Required:


  • Certified as a Computed Tomography Technologist

  • If not CT Certified, cross training from another ARRT modality to become CT Certified within 12 months.

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology

  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).

  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.

  • Certified as CT Technologist



Preferred:


  • Associate degree in radiology
