Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a CT Technologist to operate CT imaging equipment, obtain quality scans, and ensure patient comfort in a full-time role. The position requires CT certification with ARRT and AMA-approved radiology education, plus current BLS. Cross-training to CT within 12 months is available.

On-site schedule includes daytime hours with occasional weekend shifts. In addition to clinical duties, responsibilities include QA, documentation, and adherence to radiation safety protocols

Qualifications

• Must be certified CT technologist or cross-train to CT within 12 months.
• Graduate from an AMA-approved radiology technology program.
• ARRT certification in radiologic technology is required.
• Current BLS certification at start date and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains CT imaging equipment and performs scans as ordered.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort and safety.
• Obtains patient history, positions patients, and prepares for imaging.
• Identifies and administers medications within scope as prescribed.
• Performs QA and adheres to radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure.
• Maintains documentation/logs in paper and electronic formats.
• Performs routine maintenance and assists other radiology areas as needed.

Job description

CT Technologist Sign on Bonus for Days- $10,000 for a 2-year commitment

Position Summary:

Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
• Operates and maintains all assigned imaging department equipment including but not limited to tomography scanner equipment.
• In addition to conducting scans, prepares patients for these diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
• Properly identifies, prepares and/or administers medications that are within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
• Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self.
• Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats.
• Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.
• Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
• May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Certified as a Computed Tomography Technologist
• If not CT Certified, cross training from another ARRT modality to become CT Certified within 12 months.
• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology
• Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent, is required before start date and valid at least 60 days beyond start date.

Required for Lead:

• Certified as CT Technologist

Preferred:

• Associate degree in radiology
