Job summary

UPMC Carlisle is seeking a CT Technologist to perform computed tomography procedures and manage imaging data with independence and professional judgment. The role requires administering contrast and ensuring patient safety and protocol compliance.

The position supports the CT Scan Department with variable hours, including weekends and holidays, and requires ARRT and CNMT registry timelines to be completed within specified hires periods. This casual, on-site role offers flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT registry within 6 months of hire date.
• CNMT registry must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
• CNMT program completion is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT procedures using established scan protocols and contrast administration.
• Operates CT equipment to acquire, reconstruct and document imaging data.
• Ensures proper coding and RIS documentation; scans are archived and interpreted.
• Administers contrast media as ordered and assesses patient risk.
• Communicates procedures clearly to patients to alleviate fears and gain cooperation.
• Interacts professionally with patients and staff to expedite patient care.
