Job summary

Altru Health System is seeking a CT Technologist in Grand Forks, ND to ensure proper exam orders, perform CT imaging, and support radiologists with high-quality patient care. You will review PACS images, maintain safety standards, and manage documentation while collaborating with the radiology team.

Certifications include ND Radiographer license, ARRT credentials (Radiography and CT within specified timelines), and BLS. ND license may be temporary before start date.

Qualifications

  • ND temporary license accepted prior to start
  • Radiographer license with North Dakota Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (within start date) and CT within 24 months
  • BLS certification within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient education within scope of responsibility.
  • Ensures proper order is received prior to exam and assists Radiologist with exams.
  • Reviews images for quality and completeness in PACS and distributes for interpretation.
  • Maintains patient safety and comfort during transport, immobilization, and positioning.
  • Prepares and administers diagnostic or therapeutic dosages as required and maintains records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department needs.

Summary:

The CT Technologist assures that a written physician order is received prior to an exam performance and collects pertinent information. The CT Technologist reviews exams on the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), checking for quality and completeness, and completes all necessary paperwork. The technologist demonstrates regard for patient's safety and comfort.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides the patient and family with appropriate education to optimize their understanding within scope of responsibility.

  • Assures that a proper order is received prior to an exam performance and collects pertinent information prior to performing exam. Assists the Radiologist/physician with patient exams and notifies them of changes to the patient that may alter exam protocol and performance.

  • Reviews images for quality and completeness. Verifies that all images are on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) with appropriate paperwork scanned in and distributes exam for interpretation to appropriate radiologist at completion of exam.

  • Demonstrates regard for patients' safety and comfort during transportation, immobilization, and positioning of patient.

  • Prepares pharmaceutical vials for injection, calculates and measures dosage accurately, and administers orally or by intravenous injection (IV) the correct diagnostic or therapeutic dosage and completes all required records. Maintains accurate and complete record of all material received, dispensed, decayed and disposed of.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
