Job summary

Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT scans, produce quality images, and exercise professional judgment in procedures. You will interact with patients, physicians and staff while maintaining patient care standards and safety.

Training opportunities to learn new technology and orient new staff are provided. Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, following protocols, and potentially performing related radiology tasks.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program from an AMA approved or JCERT accredited school.
  • ARRT certification required at time of hire.
  • State licensure requirements may apply depending on location of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic CT scans and produce high-quality images.
  • Operate CT equipment and apply professional judgment during procedures.
  • Interact effectively with patients, physicians and staff; learn new technology and train others.

Job Summary

Performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides for patient care and initiates life support measure as necessary. Interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers.

Possesses the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans as well as the ability to perform related procedures and protocols. Has the ability to learn and utilize new technology as well as orient new employees. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care.

On a continuum, the CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Works well with all age groups.

Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on‑call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures. Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x‑ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Qualifications

Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program is required.

Computerized Tomography (CT) training or experience preferred.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required at the time of hire.

Per Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation requirements, CT certification obtained within two years is preferred.

If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.

If working in Aberdeen, South Dakota (SD), CT certification is required within 24 months of hire.

In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment and re‑certification as necessary is required.
