Job summary

Universal Health Services in McAllen, TX is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with CT specialization to perform all CT exams, ensure appropriate studies, and uphold quality control procedures. The role includes screening for contrast contraindications and coordinating with radiologists and hospital staff to resolve patient-care issues.

The position requires current BCLS certification, Texas MRT licensure, and ARRT CT certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have current BCLS certification.
  • 2 years prior Computed Tomography and/or Radiographer experience preferred.
  • Membership in related professional organization preferred.
  • Must demonstrate compliance with the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all Computed Tomography exams.
  • Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer.
  • Evaluates orders, verifies with radiologist if needed, ensures correct exam is performed.
  • Screens patients for contraindications for oral or IV contrast.
  • Interacts with hospital staff regarding patient care and conflicts, and assists in resolutions.
  • Maintains performance skills and works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and on-call as needed.
